office 97 doesn't work with sp2???? and other stuff

not only will the office 97 not install because it can't
write or create a file called html***.ocx, but sp2 will
not work at all on the asus p4s800 motherboard. it also
causes pagesys faults on the new 915 chipset for the 775
chips, the pagefault happens when useing a pcix16 ati x600
video card. this happens during heavy 3d rendering that
uses the internet for info, like in a massive multiplayer
game such as planetside.
forgive me for being practical, but dont most
companies test something before they release it????
this is just the begining,,,,,, im ablotutily
possitive ill find more problems.............

Visit http://usa.asus.com/index.htm and download/install the
latest BIOS update for each of your ASUS motherboards.

Office 97 is getting long in the tooth. You should consider
upgrading to a more current Office version:

Office 2003 Editions: Compare them to Previous Versions

Remove SP2, install Office97, install all the updates to Office97, re-
install SP2, Offic97 will work prefectly from then on...

HOW DARE THIS "MVP" tell you to get a new version of Office if yours was
working fine. Hey, Carey, how much is Bill paying you? Microsoft should have
taken more time to write these 5 million line code. It has ruined many a
computer around the world in the last few days. NOt to mention the hours for
people to search for fixes. Many people out there don't even know to come
into these newsgroups for answers.
