I have tried to update Office and OneNote 2003 SP3 from 3 days. Every time I
get an error message:

The following updates were not installed:
OneNote 2003 Service Pack 3(SP3)
Office 2003 Service Pack 3 SP3).

Failed Updates
For help installing an update successfully, see the sollution under each
problem description.
Error Code: 0x80246002

Please help.

After update failure, I get error message:
Extracting file failed: It is most likely caused by low memory (low disk
space for swapping file) or corrupted Cabinet file.

XP Prof, SP2. Office Proffessionel 2003, OneNote, IE7 are installed.
System has 2 GB RAM, 30 GB free hard disk space.

Do I have to re-install XP and other software?. My update history shows more
than one page of failed update messages. Auto update is on. That is also
failing.

Hope the above details will help.

Do some hard disk maintenance like defrag, chkdsk etc. then try manually
downloaded the updates and then installing them -

Start with the smallest one -
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Thanks for a quick response.

All partitions are defragmented once every week. This problem started one
month back. Whatever I download does not update. If this is not a known
problem, I will re-install all software. As is more than 10 attempt to
download Office updates and other updates have resulted in heavy losses. I
pay 1$ every 40 MB download. I have already downloaded Office Update SP3, 2
times. OneNote update, 3 times.

Please advice.

This is what the error means -

0x80246002 -2145099774 SUS_E_DM_INCORRECTFILEHASH The file digest did
not match the expected value

What AV are you using? Anything else in the Windows Update logs?
