Hi,

Does anyone know which versions of Office are or will be officially
supported on Vista?

Thanks

If your version of Office wasn't supported, would that upset you? Do you
think others would be upset if their version of office they were using
wasn't supported? There are millions of users of office, and Microsoft
wouldn't leave them unsupported, would they?
I have run Office 2000 on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. Microsoft
provides service packs to update Office 2000 (and other versions). If there
was a problem with running on Vista, I imagine they would provide a service
pack when Vista becomes available.

Here is a snippet from Paul Thurrott's review on application compatibility
with Beta 2
http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/...a_beta2_04.asp

"Microsoft Office 2003/2007 (and OneNote, FrontPage 2003/SharePoint Web
Designer 2007)
Works: Yes
Notes: Both Office 2003 and 2007 install and work normally in Windows Vista
Beta 2. Starting with Office 2007 Beta 2, the Aero glass effects work
properly as well."

Basically, Office XP and above should work fine. Office 2003 works
absolutely fine - and Office 2007 is designed to work with Vista as well.

Get the public beta of Office 2007:

I have installed Office 2003, XP and the latest version 2007 on my system.
2000 and below displayed some errors during the install, there are some
issues with priviledges and those versions of Office I suspect.

Dont have to be an A-hole about it.
It is valid question. Because I have found that Office XP does not work the
same in vista.

Sorry for appearing a bit A-Holy-ish. I would like to think that one would
upgrade their version of office to gain new functionality that the newer
version provides and not because the software won't work on a newer Windows
operating system. After all they make both the operating system and the
office apps.
I once had a version of Corel Draw that would not save a file when the
application ran on Windows NT. Usually a application that uses undocumented
functionality may find that the app will not work on a newer operating
system.
