I am having a problem as well with the new office SP 2 update released these
past few days (2) I get the error code 0x51F error. This is with the auto
updates installed and ON. I had the Visio 2003 update for SP 2 Office but
just refuses to update to the Office update. Hmmmm. I tried closing the
Firewalls, but that didn't work either. I turned off pop up blocker, This
computer is still not installing the office SP2 update. I updated my other
computer on the same intranet with no problems. I tried the MBSA (Microsoft
Baseline Security Analyzer) and it said it was installed but after rebooting
my Registry mechanic found it and supposedly fixed it to the right place.
Then the Automatic dowloads of microsoft started poping up saying I needed
Office SP2 Again. My next solution is turning off Auto updates. I think this
is going to be just like when XP went to SP 2 in the spring of 2004 (or
whenever the change was installed). I think its a glitch with microsoft and
that Microsoft is using us as testers of this newly developed update and we
will have a hotline in place for this update REAL SOON. What do you think?
