Owing to Office XP 2003 becoming unstable an causing crashes I have had to
Uninstall it.
When I tried to re install it, I found that I could not download the Updates
I needed ie.
Office 2003 SP2, Updates for Office 2003, Security updates for Excel 2003 &
Update for Outlook 2003.
These files combined, are 90.9MB and the download time, at my present speed,
is in excess of 6.3 hours.
As my server's allowable download time is less than this, 4 hours, the
downloads fail.
All I have managed to download so far are:
Office 2003: Update for Office 2003 ( KB907417 )... Automatic Update
Windows XP: Microsoft GDI+Detection Tool ( KB873374 )... Microsoft Update
Office 2003: Update for Office 2003 ( KB907417 )... Microsoft Update
I have the latter twice
Failed updates:
Office 2003: Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter ( KB916521 )...
Microsoft Update
( I don't know if I need this as I use Outlook Express. )
Office 2003: Office 2003 Service Pack 2 ... Microsoft Update
Windows XP: Windows Genuine Advantage Notification ( KB 905474 )...
Microsoft Update
Have you any idea how I could overcome this.?
Later, I intend to switch broadband but at present I cannot afford to do so.
I have the 'GetRight' program but cannot use this as it, as far as I know,
doesn't allow for downloading
Microsoft files.
The 'GetRight' program has the ability to continue after a disconnection..
Any ideas how I can download the Failed downloads?.

Mr. Frisch:
Please clarify; abouit the latest Outlook 2003 update from Windows
Update, the one for the Microsoft® Outlook Spam stuff, would that one be a
"Office 2003 service pack" like you told "chequer"?
I browsed to Windows Update, let it scan my system for updates,
downloaded the 2nd-Tuesday updates, and all of them installed except the
Outlook 2003 Spam update. I am running Win XP Home SP2 with all the
subsequent patches installed, even Genuine Advantage. My PC has a P4
~3024MHz, 512MB RAM, and 162GB free on C-drive. The Outlook 2003 Spam update
has failed of installation all four tries since Tuesday. I didn't think that
the Office 2003 update this month, was described as a "service pack." Please
advise.

I had to uninstall using a KB tool and then reinstall o3" luckily at my speed
it was relatively quick. However I have been presented with a new problem: I
use MSN premium, now when my email comes, rather than going straight in to my
outlook mail box, my mail goes into a msn subfolder which when I realized it
I was able to move them to the regular folder, I am now trying to figure out
how to get it to go directly to my oulook box. Any Ideas.

I just tried to install the new Outlook spam filter update after installing
the entire update. Two updates would not go. Errors ;Thr following updates
were not installed:

update for outlook 2003(KB943649) and
update for Outlook Junk Email Filter 2003(LB943591)

I have tried numerous times to have it install and each time I restart as
required the shield icon telling me I have an update comes up and I can't
make it go away nor can I get the updates.

I am having the same problem as well. What makes things more weird is when I
go to the Windows Update page, and check the status of my installs, it
identifies that these updates have failed but when I click on the failed icon
for help, it doesn't give me any help.
