Office Updates are failling to install

I've been trying to install this updates:
Update for Office 2003 (KB907417)
Update for Outlook 2003 (KB913807)
Security Update for Excel 2003 (KB905756)
Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB914454)

But I'm getting error number 0x80070643. I follow the online instruction to
fix the problem but it doesn't work. I also went to the office updates web
page and it didn't work. I downloaded the updates so I can install them
manually but it doesn't work. Please help me, I don't know what the problem
is... Thanks

Office 2003 Update fails to install with error 0x80070643 Last updated :

Problem description
You receive error 0x80070643 when you are installing Office 2003 Updates.
Updates fail to install because ose service is disabled or cannot be started.
Applicable Office versions: Office 2003

Applicable operating systems and products
Windows 2000

Windows XP

Windows Server 2003

Resolutions
1. Start the ose service
Windows 2003/XP
Run the following command from command prompt to check the state of ose
service

sc qc ose


If the service is disabled, then run the command

sc config ose start= demand

Windows 2000
Click Start-Run
Type Services.msc and in the Open box and click OK.
Double click on the Office Source Engine service.
Set the Startup type to Manual and click OK.

That's not the solution this time. Look like it's in the update itself

Didn't work for me either. Checked the ose service & it was running and set
to manual.

So how much more junk will this update really catch that is really junk/spam?

Agreed as far as it goes. This one update is unlikely to provide more than
minimal benefit over the previous version of the excellent junk mail filter.

However, I found that all Office update and repair processes were corrupted
and so reluctantly decided that I had to uninstall and reinstall Office
anyway, just to fix the overall Office installation. This worked without
problems, including the final step of installing the KB914454 update. See
also the Woody's Lounge Outlook forum.

I am regretting upgrading to Office update..
This is the first time trying it and the 5 critical downloads keep failing
and yes I have set ose to manual and start, but no joy..
I dont have original Office 2003 disc, can I repair Office without it, if so
how, or can I detete the downloads and re-download them, etc.. ?

Whats your advice people ?

This was my first failure as well. I was able to get it installed by
using the Help > Detect & Repair utility. You will need the Office
install disk but you don't have to worry about losing any data or
config.
