Office XP Service Pack 3 question

I have a Windows Vista computer and it keeps telling me that I need to update
the computer with "SP3". The problem is they keep asking me for the Microsoft
CD and the one I used is a burned Cd not the real one so it wouldn't work for
the update(or at least I think so). Anyway I asked the computer for a
solution and it said to do this:

If you are asked for the original CD-ROM you used to install Office and
you don't have the CD-ROM available, make sure you are using the larger
update files. To do this, follow these steps:

1.Go to Office Update.

2.Click Check for Updates. Office Update will check your computer for
updates you need.

3.After Office Update checks your computer, click Options (in the upper
right corner, just below the Go button).

4.On the Options for using Office Update page, select Use larger update
files that should not require access to my product CD or network installation
location.

5.Click Save. Office Update will check your computer again for updates you
need.
After Office Update checks your computer, click the Agree and Install button
to install the updates.

So i followed these steps but i couldn't do number 3 because i couldn't
exactly find the options button. So does anyone know how to find it? If you
have any suggestions, it would be very helpful.

Are you saying your 'copy' of Office XP is just a copy of the original
installation media?
That's the same thing as the original media.

Download it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Use the large file 57.5 meg.

PS, the Options is listed over on the right in line with the heading "Microsoft Office
Update".

I still can't find the "options" button. Anyway I downloaded the file, and it
looks like it didn't give me any trouble. So thank you TaurArian.

Actually it still gives me the same problem. I think I need to find the
option button soon because the cd is not at home. Anyway can you be more
specific when you say "its above Microsoft Office Update"?

Return to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...1-EB966BCDFB5E

Scroll down to and follow the instructions under "To install SP3 without the
original Office XP CD".

You want to download the file named OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe
(57.5MB).

I followed method 2, but i didn't find Installer in the Windows folder (see
step 3 for regedit). there are only current vision, driver searching, IPSec,
Network Connections, safer, and system in the windows folder. Which one do I
use?

The easiest option is to find the original CD or contact MS for a replacement
providing it wasn't an OEM version etc.
