I'm "Stanley" again. So be it.
(See my signature. "first_name last_ name", not "last_name, first_name" <--
although supposedly this can be a cultural thing.)
You must be Edith Merq?

The thing is that *if* there is going to be a problem when you install a
patch for Windows or some Microsoft product (especially one of this age)
with some third party software - you have to decide where the problem lies.
The SP3 for Office XP you are trying to install is quite old and works fine
on many computers (has for years) and I would say (atest to actually) it
works fine without AOL installed -- and it may work fine *with* AOL
installed; but AOL is not a Microsoft product, so the only ones that can
answer questions around AOL software compatibility would be AOL.
In other words - if you did not have AOL software - you would not have a
problem installing SP3 for Office XP - I have personally seen this pathc
work without issue on dozens (if not hundreds) of machines that do not have
AOL installed. With the AOL software - I do not know. Given that the
unique factor in that is the AOL software - the obvious place to go is AOL
for support. They may not be the ones offering you the patch/update - but
if the patch works fine when there is no AOL software but you have read
reports that the AOL software has touble after the patch is installed - then
the problem is not with the patch - but the AOL software.
In any case - please give links to where you read about this supposed
conflict - because a cursory search only comes up with your many postings
all over the Internet on the subject. ;-)
