I have office 2003 Pro/corp and it is not an upgrade.
any MVP want to let me know? I run the updates for my company and many of
them have this update notification when going to AU, but since no one has
Office xp, it is quite strange.

Critical Update for Office XP on Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB885884)
Download size: 4.3 MB , less than 1 minute
This update resolves an issue affecting only customers deploying the
MS04-028 update for Office XP on Windows XP SP2. The original update appears
to install correctly, but it may not actually have completed. To help protect
your computer, we are providing this new update. After you install this item,
you may have to restart your computer. Details...

Do you have any components of Office XP?
If so, that is normal.

I guess that it is normal. As I look in the registry, there are components
for 10, 11 (My only install), 8 and 9. We just might have to live with it
since there are converters and other tools that are used.

Then you should install the Critical Update.
It is not always necessary for something to be used for a vulnerability to
be exploited.
