old domain still show up in bowsing

Hi

i have migrated my old single lable domain to new server 2008 proper setup
domain.
after full migration here is how i deleted the trust relation,

1. old domain was taken off line simply removed the lan cables.
2. trust relation was deleted from new domain server 2008
3. trust relation was deleted from old domain ( was not connected to
netowrk )

all works fine but when browse or open the microsoft windwos netowok i still
see old domain how do i get rid of that so that it does not show any more.

See here about the browser service, which also shows the time of updating:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc737661.aspx

Do you run a WINS server? Then it can take longer to remove the old domain
name form the list. The default setting in WINS is something with some days,
before it will removed.

So give it some time.

Hi meinolf

yes i did run wins in old domain, new domain does not have wins its only on
DNS..
i am going through the link now will update once go through.
