Old programs disappeared after installing Windows XP

Please Help!!!

I upgraded to Windows XP and have lost all of my previous programs (Access,
Excel, Publisher, etc.) Thankfully I also upgarded my Word program otherwise
I
would not be able to do any documents. Did I miss something in the upgrading
instructions that would have warned me that upgrading to XP would erase all
other Microsoft programs
