old restore points

Where do I go in Vista to increase the size of the area to hold my restore
points? Right now my restore points only go back 9 days. I need to hold
restore points older than this.

I am not the best authority on this but it seems the answer is: Increase the
size of your HDD.

Look (a quote):

To store restore points, you need at least 300 megabytes (MB) of free space
on each hard disk that has System Protection turned on. System Restore might
use up to 15 percent of the space on each disk. As the amount of space fills
up with restore points, System Restore will delete older restore points to
make room for new ones.

System Restore will not run on hard disks smaller than 1 gigabyte (GB).

Right click on Command Prompt and select "Run as Administrator". Type
"vssadmin resize shadowstorage /For=C: /On=C: /MaxSize=XGB" without the
quotation marks. At the end of the command prompt, where it says XGB, the X
is the amount of disk space in GB you wish to enter. You can insert 10, 15,
20, etc, whatever you desire.

Vista is not like XP, where you could use a slider to adjust the amount
of disk space you wish to allocate to System Restore. When you first install
Vista the amount of disk space allocated to shadow copies is 15%. This amount
may or may not increase if you choose to enable System Restore some time
after you have used your OS.

You must keep in mind that if you turn off System Restore and then
enable it again later you will lose your custom modifications and will have
to run the command prompt again.
