One little thing I like about Vista...

They have fixed a small bug in Explorer relating to the ordering of file
names. Under all previous versions of Windows, the following ordering
applied to file names that differ only in the number at the end of them or
the absence of the number:

A2
A3
A

It should of course be:

A
A2
A3

which it IS under Vista. Hooray! This matters to me because I use Acronis
True Image to do incremental backups and the archive names are like
"CDrive", "CDrive2", "CDrive3" etc. as automatically named by Acronis. Up
until Vista these file names appeared out of order.

Yes, it's minor but I thought with all the bad vibe about Vista I would add
something positive.

My absolute favorite new thing in Vista is the Command Line column in Task
Manager/Processes. I had craved it for years, but then I'm an admin.

Thanks for that - I didn't even know it existed. I have added it in now.

Not a bug at all. The sort order in Explorer was changed from Win2K to
XP/Server2003.

This article explains the changes that were made from 2K to XP/2003 and
has instructions on how you could change it, in XP, to whichever you
prefer.

Thanks heaps for that. I have applied the registry fix to my Server 2003
machine.
