Online Activation of Windows Server 2008 Times Out

I recently installed two Windows Server 2008 VMs on a 2008 Core Hyper-V
server - one is a Web and the other is a Standard Edition. I used the
TechNet ISOs and keys during the installation.

After installation, I successfully got then on the network and online and
downloaded all pertinent updates from Windows Update. My network icon in the
tray says I have Local and Internet access.

Every time I try to "Activate Windows now," I get this error:

Code: 0x800705B4
Description: This operation returned because the timeout period expired.

Can anyone give me an idea of what's going wrong here? Why can't I activate?

Hello Tony,
Open an elevated CMD prompt.
Run slmgr /dlv and report back the results.
<X out any private information> from the output
Thanks,
