Hi,

I have Live 8.1 (Build 8.1.0178.00). I saw "Windows event 701 - Online
defragmentation" in event viewer every hour. The PC has intermittent problem
with all icons disappeared. Base on my research, there are some other people
having the same problem and suspecting that it is caused by MSN Live. I am
wondering if it is possible to disable this "Online defragmentation" or
change the schedule to once a day? And, what is it doing anyway? and Do I
really need it?

Thanks very much,
Aldous

Greetings,

It's defragmenting the databases for file replication used in the Sharing Folders feature.
This is completely normal and really won't have anything to do with icons.

Thanks for your info. Is there anyway I can change the schedule to do the
defragmentation to something other than each hour? OR even disable this?
