Vista - Dell Dimension C521
We're attempting to use the on-line game clubpenguin.com with the child's
user account. At first we had the Parental Controls turned "on", only
allowing specific sites, including clubpenguin. The child can get to the
homepage for the clubpenguin site....but after clicking "Play", you just get
an empty screen with a border...as if the flash player was being blocked
(yes, we included the macromedia URL as an "allowed" site).
Using my (the "administrator's") account, we are able to play the game, no
problem.
So.....I turned "OFF" the Parental Controls for the child's account.....and
it STILL doesn't work!!! I've rebooted to be sure, without success.
I am totally baffled. Given the above, it appears it's not a Parental
Control issue - - unless there's some other security feature that I'm not
aware of that can be modfied for a specific user account.
Is there some media playing default that has to be turned on or off? Yes,
I've contacted ClubPenguin support but, so far, no solution.
Oh, a secondary problem is, after attempting to "play" the game using the
child's account without success, then switching to another user....the mouse
freezes. Doesn't happen (mouse doesn't freeze) when we don't attempt to play
this particular game and switch users. Weird.
Thanks.
