Have only one DVD drive. If one wants to backup(copy) a DVD disk, should one
copy the DVD disk to the hard drive as a "disk image" then copy the "disk
image" to a blank DVD disk?

You should be able to just do a copy of the source disk and let the computer
take care of it. It will copy the disk and then ask you to enter a disk to
copy to. Remove the disk you are copying and enter a new disk and it will
copy the data back to the disk.

No, just let the CD/DVD burning software do it. It will essentially do
what you suggest automatically.

Hi,

Most DVD burning programs have a disk copy feature that will accomplish this
for you. Basically it will place a temporary image on the hard drive and
copy it to a blank disk for you. Most only will do this with non-copy
protected media.

If one checks the disk label, will there always be information regarding any
copy
protection on the disk?

If one just copies an image to the hard drive, can the image on the hard
drive be run(tested)?
