Hello,

I've been using msn messenger before and just now, I've got a new computer
so installed the windows live messenger instead.

Are there any ways to just show the online contacts? MSN Messenger used to
be like that as default.

Thanks.

Herbert

Greetings Herbert,

You sure can. Click the Contacts menu (or press Alt-C if the menu is hidden), go to Filter
Contacts, then choose Online Contacts Only.

How about on the menu that comes up on right clicking on the system tray
icon and then "Send Instant Messages"? The title of the new window is
"Windows Live Contacts - Select Contacts". My habit is to choose to send
messages through this window. How can I do the same filter here? Plus
without those blocked ones.

Thanks.

Herbert

I do not believe that is possible, but at the top of the "Select
Contacts" window, there is a search bar, so if you were to search for
the specific contact, the search results would shorten and therefor be
easier to find.
