Only very low resolution in VM

Have VPC 2007 SP1.

Restored another PC (XP) into the VM using Acronis, installed VM Additions.

Started the VM OS, logged on but cannot change display beyond the set
resolution of 640x480, 4bit.

XP has to be at SP3 for one thing, and then you might have to
uninstall the additions and reinstall them.

Host OS is Vista - Guest is XP SP2.

Do you mean that guest *MUST* be SP3 (for XP of course).

Also - how does one uninstall VMA - oh is it thru Vist Programs...?

I think Bob is thinking of WindowsVPC, not VPC2007.

Add/Remove Programs. Can you drag the corner of the VM window and
resize it?
What is the monitor that is selected? Occasionly, if the monitor is
set to a specific model or resolution, it won't change to higher
resolutions.

thanks Steve but I'll stop wasting my time with VPC now.

I have been around long enought to know when a dud is a dud. This is the 2nd
time I have looked at VPC in 8 mths and I notice there have been no updates
since about mar/may 2008 and there are many many problems/clunkies.

why oh why do MS put out junk like this for free and are obvciously not
serious about the topic.

Yes, if you install the latest version of the additions. If you
install older additions you can stay with SP2.

Yep, through add and remove programs.
