Yea, i just keeps pulling the pics....for example I downloaded some pics
off a disk..not sd card, and when I put the sd card in to get the new
pictures, it pulls the pictures of the disk. Which had nothing to do
with the card. It's almost like the computer has memory of every
picture that was ever downloaded. On and off the card.

Because your not supposed to leave the pictures on the card. You back up to
your hard drive, wipe the card. Then the next time you take pictures all of
them are new.

If you want to continue your odd and foolish way of doing it then put the
view in to details view and select only the images with the date you want.

After copying the photos to your hard drive, EJECT the card the return it to
the camera. Format the card in the camera and you should be good to go.
Once your pictures are on the Hard Drive, make sure to back them up. If you
have a second hard drive, copy the pictures there, if not, when you get
about 600MB, write them out to CD.

Insert your card in the reader and a box should pop up asking what you want
to do .
Select "open folder to view contents"
when the explorer windows opens you should see a folder containing your
pictures (this will vary slightly depending on how your camera stores the
files)
when you see all your pictures, you then have several options.
you can select just the pictures you want to download (either by thumbnail,
or by date)
or you can use cntrl+A to select them all.
now that you've selected. you can either "cut" which will remove the photos
from the card, or "copy" which will make a copy of the pictures (leaves the
original on the card.)

open your "Pictures" folder and "paste" in the pictures.

the condition of the pictures on the card all depends on if you select some
or all, and if you cut or copy them off the card.

Thanks for the help Robert....I never knew plugging your sd card into
slot was an odd and foolish way.....

Does that explain why it pulls all the pictures that were on a dis
too?

My computer is brand new and it's prompting me...I don't have an optio
to choose anything

This is why I am looking for help, not because I am odd an
foolish.....maybe the computer is what is odd and foolish........

How you use a SD card is UP TO YOU. There are a lot of smart-ass types
in newsgroups like this that get their kicks belittling people. I
guess it makes them feel important.

Most people use a SD card as a bridge... a means to get data from one
device to another. Once that's accomplished they remove what's on it,
making sure they of course have at least one good backup copy. There
is no right or wrong way in using SD cards. Since there are relatively
cheap many people and I deal exclusively with PROFESSIONALS, not the
blowhard kiddies in this newsgroup, some never reformat a SD card
keeping the contents as insurance...just in case.

You waited all of 32 minutes, and are now complaining that nobody has
responded yet?

Have a little patience. We're all volunteers here, and nobody likes to
be pushed like that.
