How to open Event Viewer

Im using "Windows vista Ultimate"......... I cannt open Event viewer, while
i open the event viewer it says that " MMC COULD NOT CREATE THE
SNAP-IN"....... how to manage Event viewer........

Start\Run eventvwr.msc
