How to open files with .contact extensions

My Vista went kaput not too long ago and I have all my files on a
external hard drive. I was trying to access my contacts on an xp but i
cannot open the .contacts file type

Any suggestions? Much appreciated!:

use notepad to open.

I don't have windows mail and notepad was an epic fail. Anything else
The idea were appreicated bt
