Open/Save/Browse suddenly crawls

I'm running Vista 32 with Symantec Corp (latest version) since launch, but
in the past couple of weeks a weird problem has appeard. It takes literally
60 seconds for Windows to respond and allow me to browse/navigate when I
either open/save as/browse when in any application (MS or non-MS).

MS fixed the 2 min recycle bin emptying problem...and now this. UGH!

Any ideas?
