I recently purchased a used Toshiba with Vista. The system works fine other
than when downloading or opening an excel file either via e-mail or off a web
page. Word will down load just fine. I use excel a lot and it works fine from
scratch when I build a spread sheet. Any help in this matter would be greatly
appreciated.

Unless you give us some information about what isn't "working fine",
you have no chance of getting a useful answer.
