Opening updates page errorNo. 0x80072F76

When I open the updates page It says checking if your computor has the
"whatever" Active X......... then it goes to the page and says " website
has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view.
error Number is 0x80072F76. I have searched the newsgroups, and tried
recommendations as far back as 10 Jul 2005. I find now that when I start up
my computor my virus protection never stays enabled, and it always says, that
active shield is missing or corrupt. How do I correct this problem. Where
do I get Active Shield from? I am running windows XP SP2 and all my virus
apgrades are up to date. I hope that someonce can understand me as I am new
to this.

Make sure you haven’t got anything blocking Windows Update like Nortons, Zonealarm etc
Also make sure you don’t have a Web Accelerator working in the background such as NetZerio, HiSpeed,
Speedband etc.
