Hello,

I have sent this query before, but I don't think it got through as I cannot
find it listed in the newsgroup. If it has been answered before please
forgive me.

I have my Folder Options set to open folders in the 'same' window. Sometimes
I need to open a folder in a 'new' window. Is there a way of doing this
without changing general folder options ?

Thanks

KK

I have found the keyboard shortcuts to be quite flaky in Vista's
explorer. I usually end up right-clicking and select Open or Explore
from the context menu (I am sure it is not random, but it seems to
be). Depending on where I clicked and what mood Vista is in that day,
I may or may not get the folder opening in a new menu. I miss the
reliability of click on a folder to open in the same window and
holding down Control when I click to open in a new window. I also
really, really, really miss using my backspace button to move up one
directory. Apparently you can use Windows-Up but that never seems to
have worked for me.

Me too. Alt-Up does what you want, though.
