Opening Word 2007 files in Vista

Hi there

I've been trawling the threads on this subject but can't find a definitive
answer.

When I try to open Word 2007 files, I get a "cannot find C:/user etc."
message. I've installed the Word 2007 service pack and the Vista service
pack, and tinkered with the registry suggestions made in various threads.
I've reinstalled Office Enterprise. Nothing works. I cannot even open Word
on a blank document, which many still seem able to do.

Please - can anyone direct me to the solution? I'm a writer, so this is an
extremely serious problem for me!

Raymond

Hi John - thanks.

I've had a look in there, but, as I said, can't find a definitive answer.
Would you mind posting a link to the thread you have in mind?

Cheers

Raymond

Uninstall MS 07 and install Open Office. It's free and can be downloaded
from www.openoffice.org

Or, if you just need a word processing program, check out ABIWord,

Until you can get the problem resolved, you might be interested in trying
OpenOffice.org - it will probably do all you need. OOo imports and exports
MS Office files and is quite compatible.

Well, I had that problem with Visual Studio 2008. It came back with it
couldn't find a folder that it needed. It gave me the location in the
message where it expected the folder to be. I created the folder in the
location VS 2008 expected it, and everything was fine after that.

Maybe, you can do the same.

Office Enterprise ????

For all Office Enterprise issues you need to contact the IT person responsible for this Volume License edition of Office. It will be most likely the person in charge of the IT department at the Company from where you purchased this edition through their Home Program.
They are the ones that can help you with the Enterprise edition of Office
