When I try to open sys restore it opens in notepad and is unreadable.
Somehow .jse files have become associated with notepad and I don't know what
program should open them. I will be much happy for any help I can get

..JSE File Extension

File Type JScript Encoded File
Category Executable Files
Common? No
File Description Script written in JScript programming language

Run with CScript or WScript

And of course if you just click on the file, it does open for editing in
notepad, so that's expected behavior.

Hey dogbreath--

What exactly are you trying to accomplish with SR that you're trying to open
it? What exactly do you want to get done?

What I meant is that when I try to use system restore Instead of opening sys
restore The program opens in notepad. This is the same whether it is Recovery
manager, sys restore, or any of the links in windows help. I fixed this once
by re installing windows vista but now its happining again.

sounds to me that your file associations are messed up. try right
clicking the file and choosing 'open with...' to choose the program.
