Michel:
On a related matter. I am running a dual boot installation with WIN XP Pro
on both partitions. An HP readme file states that it is not necesary to
install drivers for the wide screen HP w2207 monitor as it is plug and play.
Neverthe less, HP provides inf and icm drivers alon with detained
instructions for installation. Before I connected up the HP monitor, list
modes (control panel > Display) did not list any wide screen resolutions
(e.g., 1680 x1050). However, as soon as I connected the monitor, the 1680 x
1050 mode became available. I left Partition 1 in that state. For Partition
2, after connecting the HP monitor, I installed the drivers. As far as I can
tell both partitions are functioning identically. My question is: I there
any advantige to installing the drivers.
thanks....ralph
