optional updates

which optional updates should be installed? I have window xp home. I have the
automatic updates installed, but what about these 11 optional ones and 1
hardware update? Should I install these?

Generally you should get hardware driver updates directly from the
manufacturer and not from Windows Update.
As for the optional, that is up to you.
Look at them and see if they may benefit you.
If you are unsure, leave them off for now you can always install them
later..

hi and thanks for responding - I have on question though - how do you look at
the updates? there is just a number - how do you see what the update is for
to decide whether or not to install it?
