Order of installation of hotfixes

Is order of installation of hotfixes important?

That is, is it important that hotfixes released earlier should be
applied before installing hotfixes that have
been released later.

After some searching, I have found out that order IS important.
The patches should be installed date-wise i.e. a patch installed
earlier should be installed earlier and
the ones installed later should be installed later.

I suppose you mean:
a patch *released* earlier should by installed earlier...

Yes, you are right. Patches *released* earlier should be installed
earlier and those
*released* later should installed later.
