Order of my bookmarked item in my Favourites menu got reset for no

Hello all,

I moved my often used individual bookmark items to the top of the Favourites
menu. Below them are many many many Favourites folders.

Today i found out that those individual bookmark items that i took some
pain to move to the top of the Favourites menu (as there are many)
suddenly appeared in the bottom of the Favourites menu as it was before, i.e.
with folders on top followed by individual bookmark items.

This is the second time it happened since my 2nd month use of Vista...why is
the order of my bookmarked items got reset?

I re-imported my old favourites, but to no avail...

P.S. I recalled there were some problems with the Favourites function in XP,
looks like Microsoft is still having problem with the Favourites function
Team.

The ONLY way to have your bookmarks keep a sort is to physically
rename the links so they have a natural sort. It looks ugly as
anything to have numeric and special character prefixes in front of
the title but it will keep its sort.

Thanx 4 replying.

I made use of your idea as follow.

I created a folder that is, when sorted, would come up the top. The new
folder I named is 'ABC', which alphebetically would be the first and top
folder in my favourite menu, and then I moved all the MANY individual
bookmarked items i want it to appear the top INTO this folder.

Even if for some mysterious reason that this folder get sorted/re-ordered
and move to somewhere else, at least, it still much easier to move one folder
than a whole bunch of individual bookmarked items, which is a pain.

P.S. Seems like the Team Favourite in Microsoft is not my favourite team!
Problem in XP is inherited into Vista!!!

I guess it's more a 'computer' problem than an XP or Vista problem.
Generally speaking, computers will sort things by numbers first, then by
alpha. Ever tried to sort 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10, only to find you need to add
0 in front of the first nine numerals in order to make that work, and two
zeros in order to sort up to 100, etc? That's life when we live with these
critters!

That is the bane of my existence.. especially if using Explorer to
rename multiple files.
