Could the person who posted the link to OpenOffice PLEASE do so again? Since
I can't move my copy of Office from my old machine to my new Vista one, I'd
love to find a usable replacement. Works is fine except for copying posts to
my lj client.

Thank you much!
Rach

Got an OEM copy of Office, huh? Have you tried installing it on the new
computer, and then phone activating, saying you upgraded YOUR computer,
and that why you need to activate by phone?

But that might be too difficult for you, if you couldn't figure out how
to use a search engine to find out where to download OpenOffice.

www.openoffice.org

You should be able to move your installation of MS Office, as long as
you have the installation media.

Microsoft Office 2007 is considerably more useful and robust than any type of
office freeware. You can download and use Microsoft Office 2007 free for 60
days.

Would you care to qualify that ridiculous assertion?

OpenSores Office is about 10 years behind the times. The GUI looks like MS
Office did in 1997. There is minimal macro support for those who do real
work with office.

You get what you pay for. OpenSores Office is FREE but worthless to most.

And for most home consumers, all they need is a basic word processor, a
spreadsheet with basic functions. Why spend hundreds of dollars
needlessly, when the free product works fine for most.

And what is wrong with Office 97? Most small businesses, and definitely
most home users don't need ANY of the so-called improvements in Office
since MSO97.

You don't speak for "most small businesses', nor for "most home users".
You speak only for yourself and you have left a trail of hating MS all
over the web.
Get a life.
