OT: STAR TREK: New Voyages.... STARTREK SHOULD BE PUBLIC DOMAIN!!!

A group of fans are making the episodes that should have been made back in
the 60s, when paramount discontinued STARTREK TOS.

These are surprisingly good if you consider they don't have a multi million
budget to back them up.
They have the reincarnation of the original crew, Kirk, Spock, McCoy,
Chekhov, Sulu, Uhura,
stage sets that are exactly as the original series,
and good 3d animations and special effects. And the plots are BETTER than
what I have seen from some of the Paramount productions!
They are making these, and posting them on the internet for FREE.
They are paying for the production themselves!

I always thought that after paramount was doing a lousy job in making
startreks,
and after they decided to kill StarTrek for good, that STARTREK should
become
PUBLIC DOMAIN.

Why? Because it is too important to leave into the hands of a few, or worse,
stop making them!
Startrek goes beyond any other SF show or movie, because it is all about
an OPTIMISTIC view of the future. All races of earth working together,
global peace, expansion of knowledge,
compassion to say only a few of the qualities.

It is a glimpse into future and indeed STARTREK has altered OUR reality.

We now have cell phones , lasers, ion propulsion systems, even plans
for warp drive engines and a working model of a transporter for subatomic
particles.

This might seem OT here, but its not... Trust me.. Startrek is probably
what gave people who designed computers, and the internet much insperation!
