Vista as the OS is concerned, Microsoft wanted the first one. A visual
delight!

From WordNet:

1. (1) view, aspect, prospect, scene, vista, panorama -- (the visual percept
of a region; ``the most desirable feature of the park are the beautiful
views'' )

From Dictionary.com

vis·ta /ˈvɪstə/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[vis-tuh]
Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun 1. a view or prospect, esp. one seen through a long, narrow avenue or
passage, as between rows of trees or houses.
2. such an avenue or passage, esp. when formally planned.
3. a far-reaching mental view: vistas of the future.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[Origin: 1650–60; < It: a view, n. use of fem. of visto (ptp. of vedere to
see < L vidére)]

Or, it's a shortened version of the Spanish "hasta la vista", as in, "say
goodbye to your money"

I think you were in a different circle, there.... :-O

In the IT circles in the Northwest, it's a wait and see game. No reason to
upgrade yet, and no incentives.... Therefore, we're waiting.
