Other Instant Messaging Address

What is the purpose of the "Other Instant Messaging Address" in contacts? If
they have two different addresses it will only show the status of the main
Instant Messaging Address. Is this something for future development?

Nice eye. I really am not sure what's planned for that field.

Remember the whole contacts infrastructure is shared over Live Spaces, Hotmail and Messenger
(hence Live Contacts), so it could be used in the future for a variety of things.
