Other options for Outlook notes in PocketPC?

I've recently rejoined the PocketPC world after years of using Palm
handhelds, and still find that even after all these years, Outlook notes
don't seem to work as nicely on the PocketPC as they do on Palm.

[I'm bemused that *non*-Microsoft conduit software can sync *Microsoft* data
sources (Outlook & Exchange) with *non*-Microsoft handhelds so seamlessly -
including multiple/public folders, etc., while Microsoft's native stuff
can't seem to do this very well, if at all....]

I've got a WM5 device, use ActiveSync on my Exchange 2003 SP2 server,
Activesync 4.1.0 on my WinXP workstation, and all works well enough.....but
I am a heavy user of Outlook notes and use categories to divvy them up. On
the PocketPC, the notes synchronize via cradle/local Activesync, but on the
handheld are virtually useless to me, as they seem to be more like
individual text files and there's no apparent option to use categories
therein.

Any third party stuff that could handle notes w/categories out there? I
realize I likely can't get notes to sync via my Exchange Activesync, but I
don't mind cradling/local activesync for the notes as the data in there is
fairly static.

As I use Exchange/wireless Activesync, I'm not sure that stuff like the
Intellisync conduit software on the desktop will work for me - and I want
something fairly seamless. I do *not* want to muck up my functional
Exchange/activesync config, as I am eagerly awaiting true "push" technology
for mail...

Any ideas on add-ins? Or am I just missing something obvious, already built
in?

Hi Lawench

Take a look at PhatNotes, you can find it at Handango's web site
(www.handango.com). One of its versions - the Standard I think - seems to
synchronize with Outlook. I have downloaded the trial of the Professional
version (which also has a specific applicaiton in the Desktop) and it seems
quite powerful. Se4ems to work auite well on WM5, too bad it does not have
the option of sending notes as SMS, which is something I am looking for!

Good luck
Pedro

I'm also a dollar short, generally speaking. But thanks to you (and all
others who have replied) - I'll check out the eval. It won't muck up my
existing settings at all, will it? <pretty please>

It shouldn't be an issue... I loaded it up and haven't had any issues with
it at all. Sync's have been just fine as well.

The demo's from PhatWare are fully functional so you will get a *real* taste
for it.
