I am running Vista Home Premium and installed Office 2000 including Outlook
2000. I copied my .pst file over from my old XP computer that was running
OL2000 and recovered all of my email and contacts. When I click the To
button or type in a person's name I get an internal error and prompted to
restart Outlook. The only way I can send email is by typing in the exact
email address into the address bar. Is Outlook 2000 compatible with Vista?

outlook 2000 has issues with vista...

I have not installed such an old version of office on vista, but I have
heard people complaining ...

go to the office.misc newsgroup and post this again...
perhaps they have some work around for this.

Yes, Alias, things are compatible with Vista with the exception of YOU. You
and your world are compatible with Ubuntu. Now, start the chanting, Ubuntu
is GOD, Ubuntu is Heaven, Ubuntu is the world.

I was exaggerating, of course. I am sure that WPA and WGA are
compatible, at least with MS' sell as many Vistas as you can program.

Well, you got me there ;-) At least for now ...

Actually, I like XP too and use it every day but not for long, except
for games. I just about got this Ubuntu rig set up for business and that
will leave XP for gaming. If Vista gets its act together and the gaming
industry stops trying to foist console converted PC games on us, I may
well buy me a copy of Ultimate in Spanish. That is, of course, if the
gaming industry doesn't start making games for Ubuntu :-)

Now, start the chanting, Ubuntu

Is that what you do with Vista?

Office 2000 and Outlook 2000 IS compatible with Vista with the following
minor change.

Use Explorer to navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\System
Copy wab32.dll and wab32res.dll to C:\Windows\System32

That's all there is to it.
