Outlook 2000 and XP SP2 conflict?

I'm having a problem with machines running sp2 and outlook 2000 connecting to
exchange server. If I leave outlook open it does not show new messages on the
screen until the user mouse clicks anywhere on the screen. It's almost as if
its sleeping and the mouse click wakes it up, but thats not the case. It also
happens with interoffice mail, so it shouldnt be internet traffic. any
suggestions would be appreciated.

I am sorry that you are hitting this issue. This does not seem like a Windows
Update problem. Perhaps these other newsgroups would be more helpful:
