I can't seem to get MS Outlook 2002 to remember the passwords when I restart
a session.

Anybody know how to get around this?

Regards

Simon

This is because Outlook 2002 (and all of Office XP) is NOT certified to
work on Vista and you've found one of the problems. The behavior you
see is normal and the only fix is to get a newer version of Office.

There is a workaround and that's to open Outlook, enter all your
information, check your mail and then leave Outlook open as long as
your computer is on. If you shut Outlook down, you'll have to enter
all the information again.

Sorry about that, I tried to run Office XP in Vista also, finally gave
up and went to Office 2003.

I had that problem on previous versions of outlook and previuos versions of
windows. I ended up creating a new windows profile and this allowed me to
save passwords. Weird I know but it worked in my case.

Did it work in Vista with Office XP (Outlook 2002)? If so, that's some
pretty great information, thanks!

Actually you are wrong. 2002 does in fact work with vista and it wil
save the passwords and that is because I am using it on vista and i
works.

Although it does not work in windows 7 RC for some reason and that i
more then likely the correct answer if that was the problem poste
above. But as for it not working in vista you have to create a ne
profile.

Google search the question and the answers are there. They ar
obviously not listed on this site

It would seem pretty much that it is time to give up on running Outlook
2002 in Vista, I have searched and found nothing simple and I do not see
a reply here that helps me. I having been using Open Office for some
months. It works well and in some ways better than some Office programs.
I refuse to spend the incredible amount of money to purchase Office
Professional again just to have it not work in a few years. As for
Microsoft and Office...see ya later!
