I have a problem that has arisen recently and I am not able to decide when it
started , so I cannot pinpoint what I did to cause it.

I have a BlackJack II that has been updated to Windows 6.1.
I am using ActiveSync 4.5 (as recommended)
I am using outlook 2003

I was able to sync with no issues when I first did the update to 6.1 (in
fact I would say it was better behaved than with 6.0)

I am unable to sync without getting an error message and ActiveSync claiming
it is going to close (it never does)

The message in the Blackjack is 0x8083001.

The message in the PC application is an error in wcesmgr.exe. AppVer
4.5.5096.0 ModName unknown ModVer 0.0.0.0 Offset 1f7c1f7c.

When I look at details I see a 0xc0000005 code. When I accept the error
message, I get a RunTime error
Program: c;\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\WCESMgr.exe
R6025
- pure virtual function call

I am only trying to sync calendar, contacts and notepad. When I do this it
locks up Outlook and I have to close it to get back control of the pst.
Sometimes I have to close Outlook, then go into TaskManager and close the
outlook.exe program before it will restart.

I have tried removing activesync from the PC and deleting all registry
entries related to activesync, then re-installing and trying again. I also
deleted the two profiles on the Blackjack but could find no way to remove the
active sync program (not in file remove). I have also run scanpst on my
outlook pst and though this helped, (it took longer before the sync failed)
it did not solve the problem.

Any help is gratefully received.

...steve

I get the R6025- pure virtual function call problem when I try to sync
outlook 2003 (no exchange) on two pcs. Notes seems to be harder than most
features to sync.

I have seen the failure leave a ghost of Outlook that shows as a process w/o
an application in Task Manager. Shutting this down causes some long Outlook
startups as the pst file is scanned for problems.
