Outlook 2003 hangs very often

Hello,

I use Vista Home Basic with Outlook 2003. I installed all updates
Windows-Update was suggesting me (I have included the "update for other
ms-products" as well).

My problem is that Outlook very often just hangs, and the only thing you
could do is kill the process. The appearing "solution-finder" is popping up
but disappears without any hint what's going on. Often, this happens when
pressing the "send"-button of a new mail, but in other times I can send 10
mails without any problem. The server-settings are correct and working (if
outlook doesn't decide to take a break).

I archived my mails, so the pst-file shouldn't be to big (< 300 MB). I have
no Add-Ins installed. I used the pst-file from an outlook 2003 installed on a
Win XP. The computer is a new one, pre-installed Win Vista HB, 1.5 GB RAM.

I just don't know what I can do now. Do I have to install some more updates
to run Outlook 2003 on Vista?

Have you got some anti spam or anti virus checking your email? If so,
disable them.
