Have a Verizon Phone PocketPC. Running Outllook 2003 on desktop with
ActiveSync 4.5. When I delete an email on the PocketPC that also exist on
the desktop and sync with the desktop, the email does not get deleted in
Outlook. Is there a setting that I am not seeing to correct this issue?

Thanks
Rick

Rick,

This is the default behavior and I've not found a way around this. The idea
is for you to triage email on your PPC then really work on it from your PC -
thus everything will be there when you get to your PC. I personally don't
like it either but like I said, I've yet to find away around this (although
I'll fully admit this isn't my area of expertise).

Regards,

Well, did a bit more digging and find something out....

It appears that this is something that is setup on the Exchange side of the
equation and not something that you can configure on the device side. I'm
still digging a bit on it....

Rick,

Okay, did a bit of digging and also talked to some other MVPs (Thanks
Mauricio) who are a bit more knowledgeable than I am on this particular
subject.

The default behavior - and apparently a behavior that cannot be changed - is
that when you delete a message on your device, then synchronize the message
WILL be deleted from the server. The challenge, it would seem, is Outlook
itself. It tends to be quite slow and can take several minutes to update
properly. To truly see what is in your Inbox, go to your Exchange server's
OWA. What you see there is really what is in your Inbox.

I did some experiementing this evening after learning about this and I can
verify that this is the behavior I am seeing. I too was focused on Outlook
and it always seemed I had messages there that didn't delete. Once I
deleted them on my device, synchronized and checked OWA, the messages were
indeed gone and were shortly thereafter in Outlook.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

I've tried waiting, but it doesn't seem to work. When performing ActiveSync, ALL my message in my PDA's inbox are deleted and re-downloaded, even those I've deleted from the PDA previously.

Hi,
Are you having to setup a new partnership each time you connect? Do you see
any other error messages?
