Hi,
I was referring to creating a new folder in Outlook (File -> New -> Folder
(Contact items). Then goto Contacts and click Edit -> Select All. Right
click the highlighted selection of contacts and move to the New folder.
This way you have an empty folder to synchronize with. You can then repeat
the steps in reverse to move the items that you want to sync. Note that
ActiveSync doesn't support synchronization of sub folders (except for
Inbox). So you can use folders to control items you don't want to sync
instead of the steps outlined by you.
With the steps you have outlined, you will have issues with future
synchronizations. Unless you dont intend to synchronize at all. If you
were to do the steps outlined by you, the moment you restore the original
pst file, the device will synchronize all the information contained in the
default folders... (depending on the information types selected under
ActiveSync ->Tools ->Options) basically setting your device back to where
you started.
I might be able to help you with the Contacts that you do not wish to
synchronize with your mobile device with a little add-in. If you are
interested in trying it, send me an e-mail so that I can send it.
