Hello folks:

Every time I launch Outlook 2003 on my Vista Business workstation I keep
getting this prompt to enter the password. Obviously Outlook is not retaing
credentials on Vista, is there a trick or solution to work around the
problem (besides having to enter the password each time)?

Cheers.

Check your version of Outlook . Outlook 2003 DOES retain passwords

Earlier than Outlook 2003, including Office XP Outlook, has that problem.

Microsoft Office 2003 Has Severe Compatibility Problems With Windows Vista
RTM, Just FYI.

You Will Need To Upgrade To Microsoft Office 2007 For Use With Windows Vista
RTM, Just FYI.

I don't believe this to be true. Please cite your evidence.

It's hard to find the original source again; Google Scholar forgot to index
my right thumb.

Just a shot in the dark here, try disabling/uninstalling Desktop Search.

Maybe... but I'm still to receive a valid issue description and working
solution for my users. Other than removing WDS that is.

Is there a Knowledgebase article on this issue?

Steve

Outlook 2003 works fine for me.... no password problems.
Outlook 2002 has that problem.
