Outlook does not work after re-loading it on my system

Can not get outlook to work on my system since I have removed it and reloaded
it.
After double clicking the icon it comes up with the following message
"unable to open your default e-mail folders. could not open the item"

I have removed, re-installed and even used the repair function on the
installation CD. I have rebooted the system after removing and after
installing.

I have also went in and created a new e-mail account by right clicking on
the icon but to no avail. It will let me open my explorer bar in outlook but
will not open outlook.

Outlook express runs fine, just not my outlook mail box from Office XP ver
2002

And you problem as it related to Windows Update?
