Installing IE6 XP SP2 on New Dell. After install, the I.E. will not default
to Outlook as the mail handler. I went to " Internet Options-programs " The
Mail handler Tab is Blank and will not allow me to change to Outlook. Also in
Outlook I went to " Tools-Options-Make Outlook your Default mail Handler " I
clicked on tab but it goes directly back to "NOT Default " I also installed
Office 97 to have spell check in Outlook but when I try to use it I get an
error message saying there is a problem with spell check. These are all new
installs on New Machine. Any help would be appreciated.

could help:

control panel\add\remove program look at set program access and defaults,

or
make a restore point before trying:
19. Add Outlook Express as Default Client

I see that your problem is solved, but for future reference - Outlook
and Outlook Express are completely different programs. Please be
specific which you mean in the message of your body. You infer that you
want it to be Outlook (paid for program , part of the Office suite) as
against Outlook Express (free).
