Yes, in typical MS fashion there was no explanation readily findable
anywhere. I had the same problem. Took me ages to work out that Outlook
could no longer read mail and the Outlook Express was now called Windows
Mail.

If anyone is new or unfamiliar with using a computer or Vista, they
should really take the time to explore and read ALL the features of
the Welcome Center that first POPS UP IN YOUR FACE when Vista first
starts instead of turning it off. It would really stop these "In
typical MS fashion" kind of comments.

Even with the Welcome Center turned off - The number one return on a
Help & Search query of Outlook Express is 'Where is Outlook
Express' if that isn't readily findable anywhere I really don't know
what to tell anyone.

I know some feel Help & Support doesn't answer every question to the
fullest detail they desire, but for the novice user who needs a
little push in the right direction, it's the first place they should
look. For the experienced users needing help there are always plenty
of books or web sites that really get down to the finest details of
damn near anything you need to know about.

I'm really kind of Boggled a few people even had a hard time
realizing Windows Mail is Outlook Express with a new name, one look
at the program says it all.

IMHO - Windows Mail is a more accurate name as it isn't associated
with Microsoft Office's email client "Outlook" so I personally think
the name change is for the better. BTW I don't use Windows Mail I
use Outlook.

Dave

what are you using to post to the newsgroup then?

I didn't know Outlook could work with Newsgroups.

If you would look at the header of his message, you would see that it
says

I just clicked on Mail and it told me about the change. If you chose a new
system is it not reasonable to change some treasured applications? In MHO a
little seeking is part of the fun.
