Outlook won't send out emails after Sync

Win XP Pro SP2 on desktop with Active Sync 3.8 and Outlook 2002
IPaq HX2410

I write up emails on my handheld and have them in the outbox so that once I
sync the handheld with the desktop, the emails get sent out through Outlook
on the desktop. This is via a hotmail account set in Outlook. There are no
other settings for email accounts on the handheld itself.

After the sync, the problem is that the emails that were sent out come back
with a 'failure to deliver' notice because in the 'To:' field the email
address of the recipient is between quotes like this ''.
In Outlook on the desktop if I manually remove the quotes and send the email
again no problem.
But if I write an email on the handheld and select a recipient from contacts
on the handheld and place the email in outbox so it gets sent out via
Outlook on the desktop after syncing, then I get the 'failure to deliver'
notice.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Are these addresses in your address book on the Pocket PC? It may be
because the Pocket PC creates a quoted version of the e-mail address as the
nice name for the recipient.

Indeed, the addresses are in the Pocket PC. You are right. How to avoid this
then?
