My Windows Vista machine belongs to an enterprise domain and hosts a VMware
Windows XP machine client.
Sharing in both directions doesn't work.
For instance, the XP virtual machine is indicated in the network nodes but
exploring it fails and the error message indicates that "Windows cannot find
the host name XP1 using DNS". This sound logical since the virtual machine
is not registered in the domain DNS.
Is there a solution to that?
Regards
James

Create one in DNS. That's the easiest, clear cut solution. If you don't have
access to DNS, you can create a hosts file entry. However, I don't like
hosts files because of the administrative overhead involved and due to that
they are machine specific.
